My wrist is still painful and I am having to wear a splint and see a hand therapist, apparently scaphoid injuries take a long time to heal! Anyway I can sew as long as I don’t spend hours at it and rest my hand every couple of hours, which is frustrating but I think my sewing is benefiting from the slower, less rushed approach. So I started this Dahlia dress as soon as we received the patterns from Colette, but I didn’t get it finished until a week later. The pattern is easy to follow, clear instructions as always and some useful blog links for the harder bits such as gathering and attaching bias binding. I used some of our gorgeous China blue Linen fabric that feels gorgeous and has a really nice drape to it. I can see myself using this pattern again and again although I think I will make a smaller size next time as the fit is quite generous.
In the colder weather I like to accessorize with tights and boots, here is one of my #sewingselfies
We sold out of this pattern straight away so I imagine there are going to be a lot of gorgeous Dahlia’s to look at in the next week or so, I can’t wait to see some!
Happy Sewing!
Love it! The shape is really flattering.
Do you have the linen in any other colours (I’ve already made a blue one). 😀

Thanks, I love this dress pattern, I might make a patterned version next. The linen/silk only comes in blue, although we have some cotton linen in black that would make a lovely Dahlia.

Ooo, sounds nice! A couple of weeks ago i bought the chiffon that you had on sale which would make a lively version 2 with a lining.
So much fabric to choose from…! 😃
