2 Davies and a Moneta

I have been so busy sewing that I haven’t found the time to blog about any of it, so here is the first of a couple of catch up posts. Last month it was my Mum’s birthday and it was Mother’s Day in the UK so I made my lovely Mother a couple of dresses. The first one is my current favourite pattern the Sewaholic Davie Dress, I used some of our speckled Jersey fabric.

I didn’t do the keyhole opening and I also added some binding to the neckline rather than just hemming it.

The second dress that I made for my Mum is a Colette Moneta another easy to make jersey dress. I used some Modern Flowers Jersey for this one and I added a collar.

The third dress that I made last month was for me! It was another Sewaholic Davie dress, this one with Rose garden Jersey.

We just love the colours on the newest installment of Wayne Hemingway’s cotton prints.

The combination of vivid and bold pastel combinations makes this set of vintage style prints both gorgeous and collectable.

The fabric range is the second textile collection by Wayne Hemingway, the fashion designer and founder of Red or Dead. The style of the prints in this collection have a classic 1950’s theme.

Klona Cotton Fabrics

We’ve just added 8 Klona Cottons to the shop, with 8 more to come. This is a fabulous budget plain with no compromise on quality, 100% cotton suitable for craft, dress and furnishing.

Klona Cotton Fabric is a high quality cotton that is wider than usual quilting and patchwork cottons which makes it great value for money! Available in a huge range of plain shades it has a lovely depth of colour and is a popular choice for patchwork, quilting and dressmaking. It is a medium weight fabric. It is non-stretch, machine washable, wears well and is easy to sew and care for. Although traditionally a patchwork and quilting fabric, Klona cotton is nowadays used as much for dressmaking as it is patchwork! It is great for shorts, shirts, skirts, dresses, tops, trousers and more!
