I haven’t blogged for a while, not because I haven’t made anything, far from it! Its because I am too busy making things! I decided that I needed to update my winter wardrobe a bit, I usually wear skirts and tights in the winter but this winter seemed particularly cold (my age or the weather?). So I have lived in jeans and shirts and cardigans. Last years Colette Aster was such a success, I have worn it almost to death, so I had to make another, and also I joined in with the Thread Theory Camas blouse sew-along so that I would have another blouse to add to my winter wear.

So the Camas blouse is made using one of our lovely Liberty Jersey fabrics, it was easy to make and I love the contrasting yoke, which is a woven fabric. The sew-along was really helpful and I would definitely recommend following it if you are a bit unsure about sewing with jersey or making a blouse, it’s on the Thread Theory blog.
For the Colette Aster I used another gorgeous Liberty fabric, Truly Scrumptious which is a beautifully soft and drapey cotton lawn.
There was some left over scraps so I managed to make a pair of Grainline Studios Lakeside pyjama shorts for Amy as an alternative Easter gift (Its got pictures of sweets all over it! Am I right!).
I am so in love with our new range of Liberty fabrics that I had to make myself a long sleeve jersey top to wear with my jeans. This is made using a free pattern that came with a sewing magazine.
Well that’s what I have been sewing, now I realise what handmade item my wardrobe is lacking: Jeans! We have just had a delivery of some fabulous new denims and our newest Independent Sewing patterns are from Closet Case so can you guess what I am going to be making next? Watch this space, Ginger Jeans are coming!
