We’ve always liked ZenChic’s style. Her new signature collection ‘For You‘ has splashes of bright colours popping from calm lighter backgrounds.
‘Hello Darling‘ is Bonnie and Camille’s cheeriest collection yet, with plenty of beautiful florals, dots, bias stripes and vintage ribbon.
With the ‘Neco‘ collection, Momo is stlll designing fantasy worlds inhabited by cute cats and hedgehogs.
Bunny Hill Design’s ‘Kindred Spirit’ collection was designed as a celebration of life and a testament to women who have fought Breast Cancer. This gorgeous collection has plenty of pinks, as it should.

This week I made some Christmas gifts using some of the new Christmas fabric range that we have got at Trixie Lixie, its called Folk Art Holiday

First of all I made some Christmas bunting, this is available to buy as a kit here for £10.00 it includes everything you need to make 3 metres of bunting with full instructions.

Next I made a little half apron using the instructions from Cath Kidston’s book SEW!
There are lots of great things to make in this book,
I also made some quilted pot holders, these were made using 18 x 18cm square pieces of fabric with the edges curved, a piece of wadding sandwiched in the middle and then the edges finished with bias binding.
I can see myself using this fabric for a lot of my Christmas gift making this year.
I would like to say thank you to Joanne for my lovely knickers, and thanks to Sonia at Fabric & Flowers for organising the knicker swap! They fit perfectly, are beautifuly made and have got cats on them, I love cats! (I have two)

.I have been pretty busy making knickers this week, I sell them on my Folksy site and here are a few pairs that I made for Valentines orders.
I think making knickers is quite addictive, I must have made at least 100 pairs by now and I still love doing it and I love seeing the look on peoples face’s when I give them a pair and tell them that I made them! If you haven’t had a go yet I really recommend it!

In at number 5 are the ham burger oven gloves that I made for my brother, this gift went down really well and I have already been commisioned to make some more.
At number 4 my ever popular Memory Photo Christmas decorations, these make great presents all year round, I made one for my sister that she has hanging in her car.
At number 3 are the Scarves that I made, these are available as kits from the TrixieLixie website and will make great Mothers day gifts!
At number 2 are the little coin purses also available as kits which have proved very popular on the website, they make a great gift as you can put a bit of cash in them or a lot of cash if it is the main present!

At number 1 and always a firm favourite with all my friends and family as they say they are really comfortable! It’s my KNICKERS of course! These kits are absolutely the best seller on the TrixieLixie website and judging by the amount of knicker elastic we sold, quite a few pairs of knickers were made as gifts this year!
The new Gingham knicker kits have been really popular this year, I love making knickers and creating new fabric and elastic combinations, watch this space for new kits coming soon!

A while back I posted a scarf tutorial using a beautiful piece of Amy Butler Voile and pom pom trim.
Since then I have made several more as Christmas presents, these ones are even easier because they have fringe trim which is very simple to attach!
On the TrixieLixie website we have the fabric and fringe trim already packed up into kits for £15, so all you need to do is follow the instructions and make a gorgeous scarf.
This is how it is done: fold the piece of fabric in half, right sides together and sew along the width
Then finish the seam with either a zig-zag stitch, a serger or my favourite – pinking shears
Turn the right way around and then fold the ends under by about 1cm and pin the fringe inside, then sew in place.
And thats it! You’re done, either keep it for yourself or give it as a lovely gift!
Mine are all gifts and I have found (in my stash of things to good to be thrown away) these great boxes to put them in and I am going to decorate them with fabric and trim just like this beautiful box that a friend of mine decorated for me for my birthday (it had wonderful hand made shower gel and body lotion in it that she had also made!)

This week I have had a go at making some aprons, one is a retro apron pattern that I think is from the fifty’s, the other one is the Sew Liberated Lola Apron pattern that is available from TrixieLixie.
I made the Lola apron first as the pattern and instructions for the vintage apron didn’t seem to be complete. I used gorgeous red gingham, ric-rac and spotty lace trim bias binding. I think it has a very Cow-girl feel to it. The instructions are very clear and it was very easy to make.
I love the curves at the bottom and the circular pockets!
Next I tackled the vintage pattern which only had 2 pieces and very limited instructions,however having made the Lola I managed to bluff my way through this pattern and I even used some trimmed bias binding to finish it off. It was in fact quite easy and is really lovely,. The skirt part is almost a full circle so you can really twirl around the kitchen in this one.
For this apron I used Moda Oh Deer cherry spot fabric and gingham lace trim bias binding.
I can’t decide which one I like best, they are both ear-marked for people for Christmas, they are perfect for the 2 people that I have made them for!
