April is always a busy month of birthdays for me, as I have said before, I think Tote bags make a great present. These ones have a bit more to offer than my usual book bag style, they are fully lined, with a gusset on the bottom and a very useful pocket inside.
I love the fact that I can choose from our extensive range of fabrics at www.trixielixie.co.uk
This is the new Geekly Chic range from Riley Blake, camera’s, moustaches and sneakers feature heavily.
This is the gorgeous new range by Kate Spain for Moda Fabrics, its called Daydream and is beautiful, so much to choose from!
I love this next one so much that I might have to keep it for myself! Its another Riley Blake range called Vintage Happy.
And finally I had to make my Sushi mad daughter one out of this Classic Michael Miller Sushi fabric!
I always like to make my own birthday cards as well and I have a new stamp set so these are to accompany the bags:
I have started my Elisalex dress, I am using this lovely chocolate and cream flowery linen which is £10 a metre at TrixieLixie
Here is a picture next to the pattern so you can see how big the leaves and flowers are on this fabric
I have traced the pattern and cut out my fabric, I am itching to start sewing but I will be patient and wait for the By Hand sewalong as I don’t want to make any mistakes.
I used my favourite Fiskar pinking shears to cut out my fabric, it means less work neatening my seams!
After 2 weeks hol’s in Devon I am excited about getting back to my sewing room! I want to make a fifty’s style dress like one I saw in a fantastic retro shop in Exeter called The Real McCoy.
Well I knew I wouldn’t be able to resist the Colette patterns! Last week I made the Iris shorts, it is a beginner pattern and was very easy to follow, and like the pattern says I made a pair in a day. I lined the pockets in red and also used red for inside the waistband. All I need now is some sunshine so that I can wear them!
