I’ve been trying to decide what I might like to make for Valentines this year
It’s a tradition, of sorts, to make something, so I decided to have a look around. It’s pretty straight forward, these days, to find inspiration on places like Pinterest and Instagram. So I started pinning some of my favourites.
I would like to say thank you to Joanne for my lovely knickers, and thanks to Sonia at Fabric & Flowers for organising the knicker swap! They fit perfectly, are beautifuly made and have got cats on them, I love cats! (I have two)
This is a picture of them from the back so that you can see the gorgeous fabric!
I made a pair for Kerry at PennyDog Patchwork who’s blog is great, her quilts are amazing! They turned out so well that we have made them into our latest knicker kit at TrixieLixie
.I have been pretty busy making knickers this week, I sell them on my Folksy site and here are a few pairs that I made for Valentines orders.
I think making knickers is quite addictive, I must have made at least 100 pairs by now and I still love doing it and I love seeing the look on peoples face’s when I give them a pair and tell them that I made them! If you haven’t had a go yet I really recommend it!
One panel costs £6.75, you can make all sorts of things with it. The squares will make lovely little cushions or you could frame them, or cut them up to make cards. I knew exactly what I wanted to do with them! It is my niece Isobels 9th birthday tomorrow so I decided to use 2 panels and make her a quilt. It was so quick and easy to do!
It’s not quite single bed size as I only used 2 panels, I quite like the cute size of it, I used a plain red fabric for the back and red bias binding for the edges, It only took just under a metre of fabric and wadding.
I hand stitched one of the lovely labels to the back to complete the gorgeousness!
I think my niece is going to be delighted! I can’t wait to give it to her!!
